For his paintings, François Murez’s artistic career is organised around themes in connection with journeys: paintings of landscapes where Nature expresses in its fragile beauty a call which the painter must hear, in order to transcribe in colored materials the instant of an emotion. His sculptures are made as much attempts to bring back life to lost woods: cut or driftwood which still possess in itself a suggestive capacity that the scupltor’s gouge can liberate. His latest works marry painting and sculpture by associations of canvas, wood, mosaics …

His work is feeding on contemplation of Nature under all its forms, in order to transcribe this latter by the different ways of painting, sculpture, engraving or drawing. Even besieged, Nature has still beauty and the visual artist, by sharing glances with Nature, transcribes on a support the result of this dialogue : the visual artist, through his work, exists because he looks at Nature, and Nature exists because it looks at the visual artist. His work hopes to communicate this sensibility to Beauty, now not perceptible by the majority.
